Petpeswick Yacht Club

Since its founding in 1966, the Petpeswick Yacht Club has been a mainstay of the community. For the last 55 years, the Yacht Club has hosted countless community and private events, taught thousands of sailing lessons, and moored hundreds of community boats. Located less than 3km down the East Petpwswick Rd in Musquodoboit Harbour, the scenic location on the Petpeswick Inlet is truly “a community place” – their motto.

If you’re a resident of the community, chances are that you have been to the Petpeswick Yacht Club even if you aren’t a boating enthusiast. Dances, luncheons, HRM Recreation fitness classes, and annual events such as Seaside Christmas and Canada Day celebrations are all hosted in the recently renovated PYC facility.

The Yacht Club’s most notable and popular program is their Youth Learn to Sail series for children aged 5-18 years. These courses fill quickly in the spring and are thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. The Youth Learn to Sail program is the only offering of its type on the entire Eastern Shore.

Members of the Petpeswick Yacht Club enjoy many benefits such as the unlimited use of the boat slip and beach, free kayak and paddle board rentals, docking opportunities, discounts on sailing lessons and club rentals, and of course voting priveledges at the Annual General Meeting. However, you don’t have to be a member to take advantage of all the PYC has to offer – everyone is welcome to book the facility or sign up for sailing lessons!
