Assuage Wellness

You will find Assuage Wellness Centre right in the heart of Musquodoboit Harbour. Opened in July of this year, they offer massage therapy and aesthetic services. Their unassuming location on the second floor above the Guardian Pharmacy has been transformed into a calm and peaceful space – a real retreat from the demands of day-to-day life, where clients can feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Beth Chase, owner and Massage Therapist, opened Assuage Wellness with the goal of normalizing the belief that taking care of yourself doesn’t need to be seen as an indulgence. Rather, making self-care a priority is “an essential part of your overall well-being”. The very name itself – “assuage” – means to soothe or calm, or to lessen the intensity of something that pains or distresses.

At Assuage Wellness, you can achieve this by opting for one of the many services offered. Massage therapy services can include cupping, hot stones, aromatherapy and more in additional to traditional or deep-tissue massage. Aesthetic services range from manicures and pedicures to waxing, make-up, facials, and other skin treatments. The products used at Assuage are carefully curated to ensure the best client experience, including a skincare line that is organic and vegan and premium make-up by Jane Iredale.

Musquodoboit Harbour was a natural choice for the community Beth wanted to open Assuage Wellness in. She has been working as a Massage Therapist on the Eastern Shore for a decade, and through all her travels and adventures, has always considered this “home”. She cites the “beautiful scenery, friendly people, and a real sense of community” as her favourite reasons to reconnect with the area. We are very glad that Beth chose the Harbour to open her modern and serene wellness business!
